Food photography and where to get ideas for shots for my blog.

I've just started my first blog - about food - and because of my photographical inclinations, seem to be falling behind in terms of producing photographs.

I don't know whether I'm picky about the shots - or if I'm just too involved with the food to take the pictures.

Either way, I'd like some input with regard to lighting and backgrounds commonly available in a kitchen - maybe some good places to look for examples that are taken in home kitchens...
