I've been with this lens for more than 2 years and finally sold it to switch to 16-85VR. No regrets at all. This was not the lens for my kind of shooting. I found it overall mediocre at 2.8 and especially in both ends of the zoom. Now I'm complementing the 16-85VR with few primes @1.4 - 1.8 and the results are far better then trying with the 2.8 zoom.
