Bayer vs. Foveon - comparison images.
Feb 3, 2012

First off, This is a completely biased comparison.

It is not purposely deceptive however, one is a Bayer capture and the other is from a Foveon.

The two shots were taken within a few minutes of each other, from the exact same shooting position with the same lens (Sigma 120-300) at the same aperture and at full zoom.
Both shots were manually focused, the Bayer shot with magnified live view.
Obviously, both are crops of the full image.

You might find this comparison too biased to even dignify with a comment. After all, how often do you encounter a CFA pattern in the wild anyway. Point taken. No comment necessary. Check back later though, if You keep an open mind You might learn something.

If It's seemingly too obvious as to which is which, why, what do You see? I won't bother asking which You prefer.

I assure You, I'm only trying to open a few eyes and maybe get a few answers about this nagging imager problem I'm having with some of my cameras.
