NEX 5N Video Tips?

Thanks for the helpful tips everyone. Still getting acclimated to the camera so fully manual scares me a bit but I'm learning.

Random question:

Do you find yourselves using the "Soft Skin Effect" much in photo/video? What is the camera actually doing to the image with that feature engaged - just blending similar skin tone colours or something? For interviews I'm trying to make people look as flattering as possible :).

I suppose under consistent indoor lighting conditions I could go fully manual (24p, 1/50 shutter, aperture around f5.6, adjust ISO as needed) with AF on and still track subjects handheld. But for interviews MF would probably be best so the AF doesn't jump around with subject movement.
