Pentax ko-1 - great idea
Feb 2, 2012

It really seems, that the lenses of the new pentax system protrude into the empty mirror box.
This is a great idea that makes it possible to design new small lenses and use all old K-mount lenses without loss of functionality.
Now imagine Nikon and Canon follow up this idea:with the successors of their D301 or EOS 600:
small, well designed cameras (with the size between GH2 and NEX, but rather pronounced 'mirror boxes' that take part of the lens.
mirrorless cameras with F and EOS mount - you can use all F mount, EOS lenses without loss of functionality
get a new series of smaller lenses (UWA to small tele) perhaps with added electric contacts for extra functions
have the chance of choosing rangefinder style or hump models
Imagination boggles.
And THIS might well be the end of MFT - so perhaps the em5 is the final MFT camera. - Peter.
