Anyone use and NOT love the 17-55mm f/2.8G I'm about to purchase?

Hi, being on a very tight budget, I'm wondering if anyone has a contradicting experience to all the good press the 17-55mm f/2.8G gets?

I want to upgrade from the kit's 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 and desire the fast lens and pro build, and super sharp IQ many, incl Ken R. write about.

[I also already have the 35mm f1.8 prime]

Any naysayers?
