Sony vs Tamron 18-200

I have the Sony 18-200 and like the lens, but find the autofocus rather slow and it is bulky, mainly in width. The Tamron is thinner, black (matches the NEX-7) and is supposed to have faster focus. Has anyone actually used/compared both lenses in terms of sharpnes and stabilization capability ?
