Do you rename your photos?

If I'm out for a day and take 100-200 pictures, they are named DSCxxxxx.jpg by the camera (I have a Sony A77). When importing them to the computer, they go into a folder which I assign the name as the date.

I found this nifty Windows based program called "Advanced Renamer" which allows the renaming of all the files in the folder and I can also use Incrementing sequence numbers also. That way when I bring them into Lightroom, I at least know what I shot.
