G3 versus GX1, what makes the GX1 so special?

I'm fairly new here, trying to decide whether to go for m43 or get a Canon G1X.
Checking out the m43 offerings I see that the Panasonic G3 and GX1 are both quite recent, with a 16MP sensor. The G3 has a swivel/tilt screen whereas the GX1 does not, the G3 has a built-in optical viewfinder whereas the GX1 does not and requires an optional add-on.
So why is the GX1 more expensive than the G3? What does it really have to offer that makes it worth that much more? The one thing that appeals to me about the GX1 is that it doesn't have the bulge of the viewfinder so it is more pocketable (I would combine it with a 14-42PZ).
Please, can anyone explain the differences (other than the ones I named) to me?
