I think it's always worth coding lenses - if not for any other reason, at least because it means you won't forget to change back from manual when you put that 18mm elmarit on (and ruin a whole batch of photos).

I have a non-6-bit coded MATE. It seems the auto/manual lens selection behaves the same. It's a bit cumbersome to keep on changing the manual lens selection as we "zoom". So I intend to take the bite, and send the lens for coding. Comments?
