Choppy HD video from NEX-5

Hi,
I made some indoor videos (AVCHD format, 1920x1080) using my NEX-5.
The room was bright a lot of lights with 2 big glass windows.
I checked all the results, and I am not quite satisfied with the panning movement.
It is a bit choppy and really not smooth.
My PC is quite capable of playing HD movie, it's i5 with 8GB of RAM running Windows 7 64bits.
I tested using Windows 7 Media Player and also latest VLC (Video LAN).
I read in the past that the NEX-5 is not 1080p but 1080i and somehow it is 24p encapsulated to 60i (European version), cmiiw.
Is this choppiness caused by that encapsulation?
Is there any way using software to "fix" this?
I tried using Hand Brake to re-encode to "iPad" resolution, but that does not help.
Please if you have some ways to convert this kind of NEX-5 videos to much satisfied smooth videos, let me know.
Thanks.
