Sony Nex-5N for photographing my toddler

Hey All! I am one click away from ordering the Nex-5!! I have been researching for a while and it seems to be the best for our budget and lifestyle. On paper, it looks great...I can't help but wonder if it will be quick enough to capture my toddler-I see it has a fast shutter speed. And, if her fast movements, like clapping happily, will blur-I realize I'll have to learn to use the camera properly.

Are any of you photographing the family with the Nex-5 and able to share your experience(s)? If so, thank you for your help. And, sorry if I said anything silly-I'm new
