V1/J1 vs D40x/60/3k
So my D3000 was introduced about 2.5 years ago. For the most part it serves me well. I'd like my ISO1600 shots to be cleaner, but that's my only gripe about performance.
I'm always checking the reviews regarding the higher ISO shots against my camera, and in general, it seems that the newer m43 & higher end compacts equal the D3000, for JPG shots. And with the latest V1/J1 review, it seemed that the newer Nikons were definitely better than my D3000.
I understand that the studio Scene comparison tool is generally apples-for-apples, and to my untrained eye, the V1/J1 are noticeably cleaner at higher ISOs than the D3000. But I'm wondering in real life, lower-light scenarios, would the new compacts produce a marginally better image, or even a substantially better image than the older 10Mpix CCD Nikons?
