Panasonic and Olympus aren't really competitors as much as they are cooperators -- and they really need a third cooperator (which could have been Fuji, sad to say, but is not.) All camera companies need as much mass as possible to offset Canikon, and it behooves Panasonic and Olympus to stick together. I think Olympus' problem is what it's always been -- it simply doesn't have the muscle to keep up, even if it has the brains. Panasonic needs to get its best sensor to Olympus; if Panasonic went it alone, it'd just be another camera brand, and not one of the big ones.
