S100 - as TOUGH as S90/S95?

I was in the store today comparing my S90 to the S100. The S100 felt a lot cheaper. The front control ring seemed to be made of plastic instead of aluminum (could be wrong). The camera seemed to be overall more fragile. My S90 has survived about 10 drops to the pavement and it has kept on trucking. I wonder if the S100 could withstand this kind of treatment? Anybody put the S100 through its physical paces yet?
