The Sigma 8-16 is a great lens too, and certainly considerably cheaper than the Canon. I went for the Canon partly because of the better build quality, but also because the 22 on the long end meant I needed to switch lenses less often. Also, I got a great deal on the Canon lens second-hand.

Not being able to control aperture on the lens would spoil things though, particularly if you don't have access to another camera where you can "pre-set" it, using the method mu55 described.

When I first bought my EF to NX adaptor, a poster here mentioned that there are some adaptors for the NX system which actually allow aperture control. I didn't buy one myself, so I can't vouch for how well they work. The original thread is here (look for the post from tkpenalty about half way down): -
