Epson 3880 DOA

Ordered a new 3880 after the rebate was announced. Unpacked the monster and took off the four million pieces of hidden tape (OK - maybe I exaggerate a little), and get to the next important step in the "Start Here" manual: "Turn on printer."

Push the power button - nothing (no lights, sounds, movements, or anything else - just silence).

I have:

1. double checked the power cord connection in the rear
2. confirmed power is getting to my power strip and the outlet is powered
3. tried plugging into a separate outlet
4. tried a different power cord
5. RTFM
6.Searched online Epson support (no phone support on weekends)

So far I have a 43 pound paperweight. Anyone else with any suggestions? Was hoping to get this beast up and running this weekend, and do not want to have to pack it back up to return.
