Wildflowers, Blackbird & The Rental Car
Jan 13, 2012

Everything was lined up just right on California's photogenic Pacific Coast Highway (deserves a place on everyone's photo journey bucket list) - finished a hike on the San Simeon Point Trail (a gentle trek even for this 65 year old New Yawker taxi hailer). Heading south for a spot of lunch (con vino) I spied an abundance of yellow wildflowers - Like yourself I brake for photography so I pull over, make a lens selection and scramble down the embankment. Squatting (more like crumbling) low to the ground (oy, the knees) I squeeze off a burst here & there - things are lookin' good as I chimp the results, especially one shot which included a black bird flying through the frame - unfortunately also in the pic was my rental car - sitting jarringly noticeable, stage right (or is it left).
However life is good as is the wine, hiking and photography.
