Advice A65 or A77 for beginner

Hi,
I'm a novice and I've been reading the forum and gain more knowledge, it is invaluable. I've searched the previous posts about A77 and A65, I've seen some really great photos! I've read about the noise issue, but I doubt my abilities will notice!
I'm read to spend some cash, but need a little held to make the final step. I'm torn between the build quality of the A77 (and better AF) and the price of the A65.
Here' is what I'm thinking:
Option 1. Sony A65 (body only) + Tamron 18-270 PZD for £1080 ($1670)
Option 2. Sony A77 16-50 (kit lens) for £1500 ($2319)
If I get the A77, then I'd delay getting a longer reach lens.
As a beginner, will I benefit from the extra features in the A77?
I'm planning to use it for:
-Sport photos (basketball and football)
-Traditional family/holiday photos
-Landscapes
-Macro wildlife
My nephew is a pro football (soccer) player and I'm keen to get a lens that is capable of taking some reasonable photos from about 200 meters. Am I expecting too much from the camera (and my limited skills) to take sharp action photos in a football stadium?
