Manufacturer profiles vs. home-made profiles?
Jan 9, 2012

Hahnemühle provides ICC Profiles for my printer/ink/paper combinations, but so far I've been using my own ColorMunki profiles to print. It seems fine, but the ColorMunki software doesn't make it easy to leave a test print to dry for an extended period of time. I am guessing the Hahnemühle profiles are probably built using more swatches, better hardware and with a longer drying time. Has anyone compared color accuracy between the two? I've noticed small differences between them immediately after printing but it was subtle enough that it wasn't obvious which was a better on-screen match, and I haven't re-run the test with day+ or week+ old prints.
