Street Photographer, Vivian Maier Exhibit opening
Jan 7, 2012

We are going to see this exhibit opening tonight. Street photographer, Vivian Maier worked as a nanny most of her life and snapped candid photos of people during her spare time. Her work remained unseen and hidden until after her death in 2009. There is a reception and exhibit in Los Angeles tonight, Saturday, January 7th from 8:00 to 11:00 pm

The link below is a blog on the exhibit and her body of work. It’s quite an amazing story and her candid portraits are superb. The first link has about 20 examples of her work. The second link is the Gallery Reception invitation.

We plan to get there around 8:00 pm. Join us if you can. I'll be the one with the Olympus camera.
Vivian Maier - Her Discovered Work

This was created in dedication to the photographer Vivian Maier, a street photographer from the 1950s - 1990s. Vivian's work was discovered at an auction here in Chicago where she resided most of her life. Her discovered work includes over 100,000 mostly medium format negatives (90% of her work), thousands of prints, and countless undeveloped rolls of film.
