X10 What software to use

Just tried to down load my first photos from my new X10 on to my laptop today using Elements 9 but say nothing on the card,

Tried the Mac PC using Iphoto and worked fine, these were just Jpeg, is my software not up to date, and what is the best, I mainly do Jpegs but want to try Raw going forward.
Dont want to go as far as photoshop.any ideas
