The 310 HS also has some new IS modes that help with video and long zoom.
The controls are a bit harder to use on the 310 than the 300 though. The On/Off button on the 310 is not recessed and too easy to press accidentally, while the Auto/Program mode slider is flush with the side of the camera and can be hard to move.
