GH2 does not fit in my pocket, and is therefore not coming to the bar with me

Exactly why I bought a GF3.

I have a GH2, but for dinner with relatives or friends, a tiny camera is a lot less imposing and a lot friendlier....

For social situations, I actually find myself using the E-PM1 with the Olympus 17mm f/2.8 pancake or the 45mm f/1.8 more than anything else. I also own a GH2, but it's hard to imagine using it in, say, a bar.

I do it quite happily with the 20mm, it's still too small to be a "serious" camera ;), nobody really gives it a second glance in my experience

The simple fact is that large cameras tend to draw a lot of unwanted attention in casual environments, and that can make actual "candids" an impossibility. It can also make you "that guy with the big camera" which is not something I really want to be.

This is why I dropped the DSLR almost entirely. There are situations where a larger sensor is important, but I prefer to remain less conspicuous and deal with the IQ compromises.
