I prefer the improved contrast/slight sharpness on the first, for the bike itself, but the background then becomes a distraction.
Overall, the fence in photo 2 adds to the shot but the X5 in the background is a bit annoying.
I guess I would prefer to see a mix of both, that is best described as picture 2 with improved contrast on the bike, better framing on the bike and no X5.
