Lighting for 10.5mm close-ups
Jan 3, 2012

Happy new year, folks!

I was shooting close-up pictures (i.e. really close to their faces to get the "big-nose" effect) with my friends with my 10.5mm during my NYE party but I'm pretty unsatisfied with the lighting. Since much alcohol was consumed, I left my bounce flash on after swapping to the 10.5 (from the 17-55), so portions of the shot wasn't well-lit. I've also used the on-board flash with a Gary Fong Puffer when I had my D70 and it wasn't satisfactory either.

My first instinct is to give a ring flash a shot, but how would I attach that to a threadless 10.5mm? How do you light you close-up fisheye shots?
