Remote still-image monitoring, anyone ever tried this?
Jan 1, 2012

I have a generator with a fuel gauge on the top of the tank. I'd like to mount a camera above it, and have it take a picture in manual mode every 10 or 15 minutes and send that picture either to a computer, an android, or even directly to an inbox, for example. I can't find any remote monitoring solutions that aren't security oriented. I need macro, I need something that can run directly off a power supply, (its ok if it has a battery, but it can't be the type where you have to take the battery out to charge it) and it needs to be controllable by either a computer or an android device. what it doesn't need is to take pictures very often. even once an hour would be good enough. any ideas? I've been trying to figure out if theres a way to do this with a camera-equipped ipod that is connected to wifi, but I can't find any turnkey solutions.
