Rokinon 85mm F1.4 portraits (VERY low light)
Dec 31, 2011

Manual focus, fast aperture lenses can be just great to work with.

My favourite is the Rokinon 85mm F1.4 lens. (Also known under other brands for other mounts: Samyang, Bower, etc).

I hardly ever use it at anything else than F1.4. If there is more light, I have other lenses.

It is not as sharp, and of course misses autofocus, but for the rest I believe it to be a worthy budget substitute for the expensive Zuiko F2.0 lenses.

Here are two recent portraits, both casual and unprepared snapshots at home, shot in VERY VERY low light (at F1.4 but that does not show in EXIF; shutter speeds of 1/13 and 1/25):

If you also use this lens, please feel free in posting samples.
