So where is the firmware update?

So it's almost 2012 and not even a rumor of a new firmware update for the A77/A65. The hardware had to go out the door they said. There were issues with mismatched hardware and firmware they said. Don't worry they will fix all these issues with a firmware update they said. A firmware update did come out that really didn't improve anything. It was a quick bug fix but a firmware update that would improve all the issues would be right behind it they said.
