Thanks for your input....can you list all the settings you've been using?

The Pentax colour palette as delivered is unbelievably horrid (untrue to life, very exaggerated, and in some Styles just plain weird), and it's taken 1000+ shots to figure out why and what to do about it.

Try either of these:

Landscape Style (favors blues and yellows)

Saturation –2
Hue –4
Hi/Low Key 0
Contrast –4
Contrast Highlight 0
Contrast Shadow –4
Sharpness –1 (no F or Ex)

OR

Vibrant Style (favors greens and magentas)

Saturation –2
Hue –4
Hi/Low Key 0
Contrast –4
Contrast Highlight 0
Contrast Shadow –4
Sharpness –1 (no F or Ex)

Shadow Correction Medium (+2)
White Balance A3–A4
EV –0.3

LCD Brightness –7 (screen is way too bright)
LCD Color Tuning M7 A1 (very greenish otherwise)

In my system, this produces images that have reasonably true colour that can also be evaluated on the LCD. They're a bit flat, but I like seeing shadow detail; I'm shooting jpgs so I can't "retrieve" it they way you can with RAW, and it's very easy to bump it up in PS. If you want more contrast out of the camera, change the Contrast to –3 and/or the Hi/Low Key to +1. These files will still likely require PP CC, but it'll be manageable and pretty close to reality.

This all assumes bright midday sun, and might be specific to my camera.
