It's interesting to me that there is monitoring of the votes going on in the challenge of challenges to find the 'best' voter, so maybe a more intelligent voting system is getting trialled in a setting where there are a lot of votes to give a good data set (voters are being encouraged to vote on every photo). We'll see.

Indirectly you gave me an idea:

What if DPR monitors all challenges and keep a ranking of the "best" voters?

I thought that's what I was directly suggesting My list wasn't meant to be exhaustive on the ways of identifying good voters and giving their voting a greater weighting, just pointing out that the forum activity stats that are currently logged against every forum member can be used in determining the quality of a voter.

So what would you suggest that DPR do with their monitoring of challenges to decide who the "best" voters are? A voter is good if their cumulative vote distribution follows a smoothly varying histogram that hits highs as well as lows? I sometimes think that another part of the problem is honest voters taking a very critical approach to their voting, who say things like "I rarely give higher than a 3.0", meaning that it's easier for the sandbaggers to skew results when they place a 5.0.
