My new tablet and LR3

I got it for Christmas. I thought it would make tweeking my photos easier. Maybe there is a steep learning curve. Maybe the gray cells have faded but after the first attempts I don't see an advantage over a mouse.
Does any one know of an online tutorial or web site that might provide some direction on how to efficiently use this product?
It is a 6.5 X 10" Monoprice tablet and is used with an adequate desktop computer.
