Is anyone against perspective control lenses?

I'm an architecture student looking into architecture photography. And I've been reading about tilt-shift lenses.
And would it be weird for me to find that, the photographs looks more unnatural with the perspective control? I mean it seems like the picture has been photoshopped, and IMHO it's only natural for tall buildings to have vanishing points. It'd actually be impossible if it didn't have vanishing points!
What do you guys think of what I think? I could use some enlightening.
On a side note, what are the common focal lengths for perspective control lenses for full frame and cropped sensors? And how do they matter?
