gentlemen - depth of field is a function of the focal length and aperture

just check depth of field tables to confirm this. Crop factors have no influence.
But i still fancy a Nex7. Happy Christmas

Totally true, and the sky is blue today

Did you read any of the earlier posts? The Crop factor does not change DOF, it affects the DOF markings on legacy lenses.

The point raised was that DOF markings on legacy lenses are based on aperture/sensor relationship for Full Frame . On APS-C half frame this relationship changes which causes the DOF markings to be off by 1 1/3rd of a stop.

  • Ie., if you use f/16, use the f/10 markings, etc.

Yes, the sensor size (or crop factor) plays a role, on legacy (non-APS-C) lenses.
