Sounds (and looks!) like it was a great trip. I see you saw the Reddish Egret--we see one every time we're at the park, in the lagoon at North Beach, and more during the spring. Their antic behavior is a site to behold. Here are a few of mine from last spring (taken with my then-new 70-300 L IS lens, which I love):
