A65 - is it worth it?
Dec 21, 2011

I have an A700 which is mainly used with a Tamron 18-250. Generally very happy other than I have never got the sharp photos that you seem to get with other makes (daughter has a basic Canon d1000 that is much sharper). And that's not just the lens as it is no better with a Sony 50mm 1.4 I have. I now want video mode, but would also like sharper pictures. Are Sony images just generally softer than Nikon, for instance and therefore it won't make any difference to the stills? I would rather stay with Sony to use the existing lenses and am thinking about the A65 (can't afford the 77), but is it worth it (apart from the video)?
