How to change iMac Hard Drive?

I have a 3 year old iMac 24" with a 1 gig internal hard drive. It is doing fine for now. But, how do I change it when it dies? Is there a company that does it? What is the cost? Can I do it myself? What are my options?

I have a backup on an external drive with Time Machine.
