What speed SD cards for 1080 video on the Canon S100

I've been using the video mode a lot with a new, cheaper sandisk SD card from Best Buy - I'm not convinced that the slower cards work well. I've run out of video very quickly - or had to wait up 30 seconds before the buffers empty.
Rather than forking out on the most 'extreme' SD card I'd appreciate anyones experience.
