I am going to purchase the T3i camera. Their are two kits I am considering. One kit comes with the standard kit lens, and the other is with a 18-135 lens.

Hi Timothy,

The kit lens, 18-135mm and 18-200mm have the same IQ. So if weight is not a problem, the longer reach is better.

But maybe you would like to buy a faster lens, in this case have a look at the Canon 17-55mm f/2.8; the Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 OS; and the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 (there are the VC (same as IS) and non-VC version, and this last is a lot sharper)

I have a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 non-VC and love it. Also have a Canon 15-85mm (IQ is better than kit lens) and it is a fantastic lens, love the wide end of it.
Regards
Renato
