Nice photo spot. One of Galen Rowell's better known photos was taken there, at the arch also known today as Galen Rowell's Arch with Mount Whitney in the background (my first photo was taken there). Hereare two photos from this interesting area, the complete gallery shows the diversity of the place which is about 1 hre drive south of Bishop, in Owens Valley.
