Mamiya DM33 — 'New'?
Dec 20, 2011
|
I just received my 'new' DM33 kit today.. and I have some questions. First and foremost, it's my understanding that this is the old kit:
and this is the new one:
which I feel is supported by that of which is advertised on Mamiya USA's website:
Whilst I'm totally in agreement that - at the end of the day - it's just a 'tool', I wanted a 'Leaf'. I've wanted one since the AFi-II. Mamiya could be plastered all over 97% of the body for all I care, so long as 'Leaf Aptus II' was on there somewhere.
This is what arrived:

During my correspondence with the vendor, I was told "Yes the units we have had for 6 months say DM 33 and just Mamiya at the top. The new units that ship as a kit will have Mamiya at top, Leaf Aptus II at bottom and that is how all the units will look from now on. I would think you would want the latest one, to go into the future."
So imagine my surprise.
Anyways. I was wondering if it would be possible to clarify that this is/was the newest available kit, and that it's supplied with the back covers shown below:

I'd also like to know if this is 'acceptable' as 'new' and whether or not I should let it slide.

Idk.. it just feels like my order was assembled from stuff they had lying around, or a previously used and returned product :/
Thoughts? Input? Anything?
