Special Olympics

As a student, I shot lots of events for school publications with various SLRs, invariably loaded with Tri-X film. I thought I'd try a black and white treatment of an event I covered several months ago to see whether I could replicate the feel of those sets of photos. My daughter swims for a Special Olympics team; each spring we host a meet at a local high school and I'm the designated photographer. As you can see, I was more drawn to the athletes than to the competition itself.
