If you would take a look at the picture that mbwhite got when he saved it with Silkypix:

and compare to what mbwhite got when he saved it with ACR:

it will become clear, that Adobe as a third-party developer doesn't handle RAF format very well (yet). The result you get with Silkypix (even without any postprocessing) is without that noise that shows up with ACR.

If there was the sea surface or a textured wall, you would've deleted a lot of the texture with whatever software you're using...
