A bit surprising about the corners at 45mm
In reply to Jogger, Dec 13, 2011

I have always found the corners at 45mm on my 45-200 to be very sharp, and reviewers have found not much difference in the resolution at the centre compared to the corners. It's at the long end that it gets a bit soft.

i dont get the point of these professional "x" lenses if they are not going to be significantly better than the consumer lenses... the 14-42x is even worse than the kit lens. makes no sense.

I have tried to do some systematic comparisons of the image quality of the older Lumix G 45-200mm and the newer Lumix X 45-175mm lenses. Based on my tests, the newer lens appears to be better.

The are comparable in the image centre at 45mm, but the newer lens is better in the corners. At full tele, I think the newer lens is somewhat better, but I suppose that is open for discussion.
