I don't plan to update mine. The only significant change is compatibility with the new power zoom lenses, in which I have no interest. If you expect to buy one of those, then you should update.
Updating firmware is usually fairly easy, but every once in a while somebody messes up, and the result is that the camera becomes unusable and has to be sent in for service.

yes update is still in there.. but what i need to know is what are the benefits of updating firmware.. .
