I also get kind of underexposed images lately with my k10d. Yet, in specific conditions: quite strong light (not necessarily great dynamic range), auto ISO (upper limit set to 640). Checking the exposure compensations proves that I'm on zero.
I use always A mode, link focus point+exposure, combined metering (the green sign, can't remember now the name in English).
It never happens in artificial light, or with flash.
Since I shoot less frequently nowadays, and since the underexposure is not dramatic, (max 0.6 ev) I didn't take the issue seriously. But know, that you mention it I'll look for it more attentively.
Our cameras are quite old ... maybe they start showing their age?
