They certainly look similar from the front.
Understandably less so from the back.

My SLR was a Spotmatic 1970 era. And always felt good in my hands. I find the K20 feels much the same and actually think I prefer it, in the in my hands sense, to the K5
But I have only had the k5 a few weeks so time will tell.

OT;

Watched the movie "American Gangster" on the weekend and got a kick out of seeing Russel Crowe's task force characters all using 1970 era Pentax SLRs with great Telephoto lens. Not a Nikon or Canon in sight. Those were the days!
