Although I agree completely with OP, I do think it is important to know the limitations of your equipment. For example, I would not use the X10 for a portrait shoot where it was essential to get a beautifully blurred background. I would turn to my Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS on my 5D MKII. Similarly when I shoot architecture, I would not use the X10 as I am a stickler for straight verticals. Rather I would turn to my Canon 24 mm f3.5 L TS-E, again on my 5D MKII.

Were I shooting a party and just wanted some pictures of friends for posting on Facebook, the X10 is great. If someone is paying me to do a corporate event, I haul a pair of full-frame bodies with big flashes and fast zooms.
