Price difference in Europe for Sigma 17-50 - still worth the difference?

Hi everyone,
I know this question has been raised many times before, however I would like have a different view on this subject.
I'm, since a while, considering a new mid-range zoom and hesitating between sigma 17-50 2.8 and tamron 17-50 2.8 (non-vc) for my d7000. If I were in US, I would definitely go for Sigma, for me OS and HSM justifiy the 200$ of difference. Whereas in Europe the Sigma costs around 600 EUR, tammy costs 300 EUR.
In your opinion, is it still worth to pay the double price for Sigma? Given that I can afford both but I'm avoiding to waste my money.
Thanks for a lot for your help.
