broken hot-shoe on Sigma EF 500 flash
Dec 10, 2011

My wife borrowed my Canon 20D & 24-70 f/2.8 the other day. And somehow when I got the camera out afterwards, the hot shoe to the Sigma Super EF 500 flash is broken. I can kinda "hold it" to the camera and make it work, but it's clumsy at best. I don't use the flash very much - either natural light or strobes/umbrellas. So I've yet to replace it. Plus, I'm kinda irked since it's my own darn fault for letting it outta my sight. groan

Anyone have any experience with getting the "foot" of the hot shoe replaced? I have both pieces - and did in fact try carefully gluing it back together. Obviously didn't work.

I just hate the idea of replacing the entire flash over a small plastic part on the bottom.

Any suggestions?

p.s. wife has been "gently reprimanded".
